The Autobots travel the last half-mile to the cliff that houses the Decepticons' fortress. Silently, they transform into their robot modes. "Okay, Buster," says Optimus Prime, "lead us to the entrance you found."

"This way," Buster whispers as he starts moving. The Autobots follow him through a long cavelike passage. At the end of it, Buster thumps his hand against what looks like a solid stone wall. A lever pops out, Buster presses it, and the rock wall swings open.

Buster turns to Optimus Prime. "This first room is just a little closet or something," he whispers. "Only a few of us can fit in it at one time. There's a door on the opposite side. When we go through that, we'll be in the main section of the fortress."

The Autobot leader nods. "Attack any Decepticons you see," he instructs the robots, "except Megatron. Capture him."

Beachcomber and Optimus Prime are the first to step out of the closet doorway. Optimus Prime signals for the others to enter the fortress, too. In a minute the Decepticons' hideout is completely breached. The Autobots break into groups of five or six and spread out through the fortress. Optimus Prime, Beachcomber, Buster, Brawn, and Sunstreaker make their way along a lighted hallway lined with locked doors on either side.
