Beachcomber knows this is no job for one lone Autobot. He scans the cliff through which rumble has disappeared and tries to memorize its every feature so he can recognize it later. Then he quickly returns to the dirt road and follows it, at top speed, back to Autobot headquarters.

Home again, Beachcomber transforms to his robot mode, steps into headquarters, and calls to Optimus Prime.

"Beachcomber!" exclaims the Autobot leader. "Back so soon? What happened to your day off?"

"We've got trouble," announces Beachcomber. "I found the Decepticons' fortress and they're up to something. Tumble was outside creating earthquakes. It smells fishy to me, so I think we better get over there and investigate."

"Good work, Beachcomber!" says Optimus Prime. "And now you've got a chance to do more good work. I want you, Powerglide, and Windcharger to go back to the fortress and look around. See what you can find out. But be careful. You know that the Decepticons are ruthless!"

Outside the headquarters, the three Autobots quickly travel through the countryside toward the isolated cliffs.

"Okay," says Beachcomber. "This is it, the Decepticons' fortress." He faces the cliff wall. "The door is right there." He points to what looks like sheer rock to the others.

"Where?" asks Powerglide.

"It's there. Just believe me," replies Beachcomber.

"How are we going to get inside?" asks Windcharger.

"The same way as Rumble did," answers Powerglide.

"Will the door open for an Autobot?" wonders Beachcomber. "Maybe we should investigate outside. I could examine the cliffs with my sensors. I might be able to find another way in."

"Sure," agrees Powerglide, "but that will take longer. Who knows what the Decepticons are doing in there. We might not have much time."

"But going through the Decepticons' front door could lead us into big trouble," replies Beachcomber.
