"Come on," Windcharger says impatiently, "we're never going to solve that code. Let's get through the door some other way."

"Do you want to smash it down?" asks Beachcomber.

"You betcha." Windcharger gathers his strength and sends out a magnetic force field, but even his super-strong powers can't budge the door.

"Wow," he says, drained of energy. "I wonder what it's made of."

"I don't know," answers Beachcomber, "but you just made an awful lot of noise. I think we'd better get out of here."

The Autobots turn and rush back through the passageway. Behind them, the door swings open on silent hinges. Megatron, the Decepticon ruler, steps through it, sees the fleeing Autobots, and retreats into the room once again.

Seconds later, the Autobots near the storage area. They round a corner—and come face to face with Megatron in his weapon form.

As a nuclear-charged fusion cannon, Megatron takes aim…and shoots Beachcomber and Windcharger. When he finishes, there's not much left.

Powerglide has even worse luck than his two friends. The Decepticons capture him as he's roaming about the fortress. With a few quick changes in his circuitry, they force him to lead them to Autobot headquarters.

Although the Autobots are not expecting an attack, they fight well. Still, they weren't prepared for battle and, one by one, they fall. At last, only Optimus Prime is left.

"Come, my friend," Megatron says demoniacally. "I will not kill you, I will just…alter you a bit. I have a little job for you to do. It involves the destruction of earth's cities. You will be a powerful ally to the Decepticon cause…"

The noble Optimus Prime would never submit to Megatron's evil—not even to save his own life. With a last effort of his will, Optimus Prime reaches for a small black button hidden above the doorway and—KA-BOOM!!—all of Autobot headquarters goes up in a giant explosion, taking Megatron and the evil Decepticons with it.
