"All right," Megatron snarls, "this is the lab." He pushes open an unmarked door and the Autobots find themselves in the largest lab they've ever seen.

Megatron crosses the room to a radar screen. A line of red light is slowly working its way across the screen toward a bull's-eye in the center.

"That's the Destruction Beam," Megatron says proudly. "It's ten minutes from Center City now."

"Stop it," orders Optimus Prime

Megatron stares at him but doesn't move a muscle.

Beachcomber spots a button under the radar screen and pushes it. The red line stops moving—then slowly fades away.

"Center City is safe," says Optimus Prime with relief. "And the Decepticons are going down in history as a bunch of losers!" He takes careful aim with his laser rifle and blows the Destructicon Beam machine to robot heaven.

Most of the Decepticons are permanently maimed in battle, and the Autobots leave the fortress victoriously, taking Megatron with them. But back at headquarters they have to trade him for the release of several of their own kind, since the Autobots in Center City were badly beaten by the Decepticons.

"They'll be back making more trouble," Optimus Prime says, but for now, let's all sit back and recharge."
